What does an Assistant Controller do?

Assistant Controller Responsibilities

  • Assist Controller in day-to-day accounting oversight.

  • Support month-end and year-end closures, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Manage general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy.

  • Enhance internal controls for compliance and asset protection.

Assistant Controller Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Skilled with ERP systems and accounting software.
  • Familiarity with internal controls and compliance.
