Legal Billing Specialist Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all client invoices, statements, and timesheets.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure timely payment and address billing concerns.
- Train and support Attorneys and legal staff on billing processes and tracking software.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal or external billing-related inquiries.
- Monitor revenue cycles, identify potential issues, and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
- Develop and document billing procedures and systems to streamline the billing process.
- Implement comprehensive bill-back processes to track and allocate expenses.
- Assist with financial reporting related to billing and Accounts Receivable.
- Stay abreast of changes in legal billing regulations and ensure compliance with all billing practices.
Legal Billing Specialist Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in legal billing or Accounting with a law firm.
- Proficiency in billing software, invoicing systems, and accounting software.
- Strong understanding of legal accounting and financial terminology.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
