What is the role of an Assistant Chief Engineer?

Assistant Chief Engineer Duties
- Assist in overseeing daily operations of building systems and maintenance activities.

Assistant Chief Engineer Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in building maintenance or engineering.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with building automation and energy management systems.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications such as CEM or Stationary Engineer License preferred.
- Experience in commercial, residential, or industrial facility management.
- Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and LEED standards.
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus.
