What does a Business Analyst do?

A Business Analyst plays a critical role on a sales and marketing team by providing analytical insights, data-driven recommendations, and process improvement strategies that enhance the team’s effectiveness. They often support the evaluation of current industry trends to identify business opportunities that would generate revenue resources and pave the way for more business partnerships.

Business Analyst Responsibilities

  • Design and implement market and consumer surveys.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret marketing and sales data.

  • Analyze historical sales data to assist with sales forecasting and planning.

Business Analyst Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, marketing, or a similar field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in an Analyst role on a sales or marketing team.
  • Working knowledge of analytical software, such as SAS, SPSS, and Google Analytics.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and data interpretation skills.
  • Familiarity with survey tools, CRMs, and databases.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in an easy-to-understand format.
